The Xerox WorkCentre 7125 is designed to be used in a large office for daily print, scan, and copy needs. It offers expandable paper handling features, finishing options such as stapling and hole-punching, as well as the ability to add a fax function. Unfortunately, the 7125 is below average when it comes to speed and overall quality, but it will be a solid addition to fairly busy offices that do not generally print complex graphics or photos.

An ethernet and USB interface are both built into the unit and users have the option of adding wireless networking through a third-party adapter. Most major operating systems are supported. Other optional additions include faxing, either via the server, the internet, or a phone line. Finishing options will add either 500 or 2,000 sheets to the total paper capacity, which is 1,090 sheets with 2 trays and 2,130 sheets with 4 trays, including a 50-sheet bypass tray. There is also an automatic document feeder that holds 110 sheets of standard paper.

With all four Xerox 7125 printer toner cartridges installed, this unit weighs just over 250 pounds. It is bulky, too, measuring approximately 23x25x45 inches. Considering all of the features it holds, though, the size is worth it. It can make up to 999 copies per original with resizing options as well as a number of specialty copying features. The scanner works in black-and-white and color and offers a number of locations to send scans. The fax function is Super G3 and has a number of speed dial options.

Each of the three color toners can yield up to 15,000 pages, while the black WorkCentre 7125 toner cartridge can yield up to 22,000 pages. Whether only using the black printer or all four colors of Xerox 7125 toner, the maximum resolution that can be reached using any function is 600x600 dpi, which is considerably lower than many all-in-one laser machines on the market.

Up to 25 pages per minute can be produced with a first page out time ranging from 6.5 seconds to 13 seconds, depending on the function and document. It takes the unit 40 seconds to warm up. The 7-inch touchscreen color LCD allows users to easily navigate the system and monitor the remaining levels of WorkCentre 7125 toner. The maximum monthly duty cycle is 60,000 pages and the memory is 2 GB.

Overall, this powerful color laser machine can handle daily tasks, but might fall a bit short in a very busy environment. The high-yield Xerox 7125 toner will keep the cost per page fairly low and the modular design allows the unit to grow as a business expands.
