The Xerox Phaser 7400 is a color laser printer for large offices. With a monthly duty cycle of 150,000 pages, the 7400 will definitely get the job done. If you do not need such high printing volumes the Xerox 6180 toner printer is a better fit. Windows and Mac compatible, this unit connects via USB and has a memory of 512 MB. It has an input capacity of 3,000 sheets, an output tray that holds 500 sheets and an auto document feeder. Four Phaser 7400 toner cartridges are needed for printing, and they are filled with cyan, magenta, yellow and black printer toner so it will be fairly easy to maintain, especially since each of these toners has a respectable page yield. Weighing 185 pounds, it is quite hefty and will most likely need to be lifted by multiple people. Its size of 18.5x25.2x24.5 inches will make a large footprint too.

Using the Phaser 7400 toner cartridges, fast speeds are possible. The black printer toner has the ability to print out at rates of 40 pages per minute, while the color prints in 36 pages per minute. The black Xerox 7400 toner has a 15,000 page yield, and the color has a yield of 9,000 pages. Unfortunately, compatible Xerox toner cartridges are not available for this printer, resulting in a higher cost per page.
