Xerox 6204 Printer Review
For a wide-format laser printer, the Xerox 6204 is actually pretty compact, and its support for a variety of media types and sizes is only one of its appealing features. It can print up to 5 D/A1 prints per minute, and it can even scan wide-format documents with an optional upgrade. Perhaps its best feature, though, is the extremely low cost per page and large capacity of Xerox 6204 printer toner.
While the design of the 6204 does consume a fair amount of space, its 51.6x22x43 frame and weight of 518 pounds is fairly impressive given its performance. As mentioned, it can be equipped for copying and scanning, so it is perfect for the job site or office that needs to copy blueprints and other large documents, or convert them to digital formats such as TIFF and PDF.
The basic print server embedded in the machine comes with a 40 GB hard drive and 1.25 GB of RAM for solid performance without slowdowns on large documents and jobs. Upgrading to the FreeFlow Accxes print server enables better web management and more control over how documents are formatted and printed, as well as increasing to an 80 GB hard drive for more storage.
Xerox 6204 toner cartridges are some of the most cost-effective in this model's class, thanks to low prices and large capacities. Replacement Xerox 6204 toner cartridges are rated for up to 14,300 pages each, so users won't have to buy replacement toners often.
With support for media up to 36 inches in width, there is very little the Xerox 6204 can't handle. Although it lacks color capabilities, it is a cost-saving machine that is a great value.
