Ricoh 2022 Printer Review
The Ricoh Aficio 2022 is a high-volume all-in-one device that can print, scan, copy and fax documents, but due to a handful of lackluster features it isn't the best option in its class of monochrome laser units. One such disappointing element is its slow output, printing at a maximum speed of only 22 pages per minute. What is unique about this printer is that despite its slower speeds, other features such as long-lasting Aficio 2022 printer toner, an upgradable paper input and versatile control panel enable it to keep up with high-volume small offices.
Much of the 2022's design makes it a great solution for multiple users with a variety of projects, starting with its intuitive color touchscreen LCD located on the front panel that allows for standalone copying and faxing. The touchscreen provides access to an array of tools that will allow users to select the number of duplicates needed for a job and make edits to a project, as well as receive project reports and updates on Ricoh 2022 toner levels. Walk-up use is further enhanced by its front USB port, which supports printing directly from or scanning a job to a user's flash drive. Users will also be able to connect multiple computers to the device and easily share jobs over its wireless network connection.
The 2022 is equipped with a decent paper input, providing two 500-sheet main trays and a 100-sheet bypass tray for important jobs. If this isn't enough, users can add on additional paper handling like a 2,000-sheet tray to increase its total capacity to a maximum of 4,100 pages. The device can support paper with a minimum size of 5.5x8.5 inches to a maximum size of 11x17 inches.
This device is designed for those that only have monochrome jobs, but it can print text and graphics with a sharp professional quality and a resolution of 600 dpi using Aficio 2022 toner. Monochrome copies also have enough detail and clarity to support internal jobs, duplicating original documents with a nice resolution of 1200 dpi.
One benefit to this being a monochrome unit is its cost-efficient print system that uses a single Ricoh 2022 toner cartridge rather than multiple toners. Yields of up to 11,000 pages for each Ricoh 2022 toner cartridge means that users will be able to print and copy documents at high volumes without suffering from expensive running costs.
The main issue with the 2022 is the fact that its output speeds are far slower than other models in its price range and many small office printers. Buyers that are willing to wait slightly longer for their jobs stand to benefit much from this all-in-one device, which is versatile enough to support heavy-duty workflows with its optional paper trays, wireless networking and standalone copying and faxing capabilities.
