With a maximum monthly duty cycle of 200,000 prints, the Lexmark X651 is designed to handle the printing, copying, and scanning needs of big, busy offices. Its impressive speed and versatility creates a more efficient atmosphere, and it does so without taking up a ton of space. It is expandable, Energy Star-qualified, and is compatible with most popular operating systems.

Copies and prints are made at a maximum rate of 45 pages per minute, while documents can be scanned at a rate of 55 sides per minute. In duplex mode, which is printing on both sides of a sheet, up to 30 pages per minute can be produced, and the first page of a job will begin printing in about 8 seconds. These fast speeds are a result of a powerful 600 MHz processor. In addition to the fast rate of production, the X651 can output a professional-quality resolution of 1200x1200 dpi.

On the front of the machine, there is a 7-inch touchscreen LCD that makes managing tasks and navigating through the various settings easy. The LCD also displays errors and allows users to monitor the amount of Lexmark X651 toner remaining. Above the display there is an automatic document feeder for use with the copier and scanner, which holds up to 75 pages at a time. The standard paper capacity is 650 sheets, which consists of a 550-sheet input tray and 100-sheet bypass tray. More trays are available to increase the paper capacity up to a maximum of 3,200 sheets.

Documents can be scanned in color, but this machine only uses black Lexmark X651 printer toner, meaning only black-and-white pages can be printed. Up to 7,000 pages can be printed with the starter Lexmark X651 toner cartridge, but high-capacity toners are available from the manufacturer and from third-party vendors. The high-capacity Lexmark X651 toner cartridges can yield up to 25,000 pages, significantly reducing the cost per printed page.

USB and ethernet ports are provided, but wireless connectivity can be added. Additional memory is also supported up to 1280 MB, whereas the built-in amount is 256 MB.

Even with all of its features and functions, this laser unit weighs approximately 100 pounds and has a relatively small footprint considering everything it offers. Busy offices will be pleased with the Lexmark X651, and its modularity allows it to grow with business.
