The Lexmark X364 is the base model in a series of monochrome all-in-one laser printers that is more affordable and quicker than comparable devices, printing up to 35 pages per minute for monochrome documents. The series also includes two additional models with enhanced capabilities, the X364DN with duplexing and wired networking capabilities, and the X364DW providing duplexing and wireless printing. As the most basic of the three, the X364 is available for a fair price tag and has the design to support small offices.

The device has a good balance of features to make scanning, printing, copying and faxing easy, including a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for multiple-page scans and a full number pad on the front panel for fax dialing. The front panel also incorporates an LCD for monitoring job progress, buttons for access to menu features, and lights that will alert users when toners are running low.

Users have the the option to increase the provided media handling of 300 pages to a maximum of 800 pages by purchasing additional input trays. Even with the added media handling, the device is still moderately compact enough to fit on a desktop with a size of approximately 18x17x16 inches.

Reviews regarding output note that graphics and text documents tend to be above par compared to models in its class, printing with a maximum resolution of 600 dpi using black Lexmark X364 printer toner. Photos also stood well, with enough detail to support basic presentations or newsletters.

The device uses a single black Lexmark X364 toner cartridge that has a standard yield of 3,500 pages. Users that want to lower the cost per page can purchase a high-capacity Lexmark X364 toner cartridge instead, which can yield up to 9,000 pages.

While it's not the most advanced of its series, the X364's quick speeds and flexible all-in-one features make it a strong contender in its class. With its inexpensive price and upgradable capacity, it is a good bargain for its cost.
