Fitting a set of multifunction features into such a small design is no easy feat, but the Lexmark S415 manages to be both extremely capable and very compact. Put it together with an affordable price tag and inexpensive Lexmark S415 printer ink and you have a recipe for success, and it even offers solid print speeds of up to 35 pages per minute for black and 30 pages per minute for color.

Most surprising of the design elements is the included 35-sheet automatic document feeder, mainly because the entire machine still manages to measure only 14.4x10.6x17 inches, and weighs a little less than 18 pounds. It's also surprising that Lexmark was able to include printing, scanning, copying, and faxing in such a small device. Maximum copy speeds don't quite reach the fast pace of printing, but at up to 25 copies per minute, they are still impressive.

When printing, the unit can support automatic duplexing for two-sided prints, and the paper capacity is up to 100 sheets. Supported media types include plain paper, iron-on transfers, card stock, envelopes, and more. The maximum monthly duty cycle is 7,000 pages, but users will want to stay at around the 500-page recommended monthly volume for the best longevity.

Four individual colors of Lexmark S415 printer ink cartridges are used, and help to reduce waste. The Lexmark S415 ink cartridges come in standard capacities for up to 200 pages each, or high-capacity versions for up to 700 pages each. The latter are the most cost-effective, with a lower cost per page.

The S415 is an impressive all-in-one inkjet and its well-designed frame gives users the functions they need without unnecessary bulk. Its fast speeds, high-quality output, and affordable Lexmark S415 ink make it a very good value for home office use.
