The base model is simple, but can quickly print monochrome projects at a rate of up to 40 pages per minute to outperform most comparable printers in its class. While users may be turned off by pricey toners, the E460 has an affordable retail price and efficient design for small workgroups.

The machine has features that are equipped for low to medium volumes, including a 300-sheet total paper capacity and a recommended monthly duty cycle of 1,500 to 10,000 pages. The device supports standard media types like labels, plain paper and transparencies, which can all be handled by the useful 50-sheet multipurpose feeder.

With its impressive range of security and control features such as a keypad for pin-only printing and a notification system that alerts users when Lexmark E460 printer toner is low, users can customize the device and stay on top of ordering supplies. The built-in LCD display is also a nice feature to keep users updated on job progress status. As the E460 model is the most basic of the series, buyers may be inclined to spend a little extra to garner a more advanced package of features to boost workflow and expand connectivity. If users can get passed higher-than-average printer toner replacements, this series will be a good fit for a productive workgroup, especially since the cost per page is low.
