Considering its surprisingly affordable price, the Kodak ESP 7 is a great value as an all-in-one printer for the home office. Not only can this machine perform a number of business-related tasks, such as duplexing and scanning, it is also considered a photo printer and comes fully equipped with a number of features that make printing high-quality pictures quick and easy.

The ESP 7 is compatible with the primary operating systems for Windows and Mac, and offers wired and wireless connection. Also available are slots for memory cards and a PictBridge port, which allows users to load and print images without using a computer. The 3-inch color display on the front of the machine gives users the opportunity to preview and adjust images before printing.

This inkjet printer uses pigment-based printer ink, which is held in two separate Kodak 7 ink cartridges. There are four different colors of ink: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. The colors are compartmentalized within a single ESP 7 ink cartridge, while the black is on its own. When the print mode is set to the highest possible quality, a resolution of 9600 dpi can be reached. For standard printing, though, more economical and efficient modes are available that reduce the amount of Kodak 7 ink used per page, but increase the speed to up to 32 pages per minute.

Though the yield of the Kodak 7 ink barely exceeds 400 pages, the overall cost per page is not overly expensive, especially if third-party printer ink is purchased. This compatible ESP 7 ink will generate the same yield and same quality, but for a lower price than the OEM supplies.

Weighing less than 20 pounds and boasting a sleek, modern frame, this unit is ideal for most homes. It has the ability to make copies as well as scan and it even has optional Bluetooth connectivity for tech savvy consumers. There is a standard paper tray and a photo paper tray, and the auto-detect feature will pull the paper that is selected by the user for printing. Paired with all of the other features that come standard in this inkjet printer, users will find that the Kodak ESP 7 is a good investment.
