HP PSC 750 Printer Information
Anyone in need of a small, versatile machine for a dorm room or home office might want to take a look at the HP PSC 750 (also referred to as the PSC 750xi). It is small enough to fit in tight spaces, measuring about 18x14x11 inches, and can be easily set up, with a weight of less than 20 pounds. The PSC 750 may be compact, but it can serve many purposes. This color inkjet device can be used as a scanner, copier, and printer, conserving space and time for busy users.
The quality and speed are decent and have a direct effect on each other. At the machine's fastest rate, which is 11 pages per minute in black-and-white and 8 pages per minute in color, the print quality will lose some sharpness. In the Best mode that focuses more on quality, the speed will be slower as detail takes time. The maximum resolution that can be created using only the black HP PSC 750 printer ink is 600x600 dpi, while the maximum color resolution when using photo paper is 2400x1200 dpi.
The PSC 750 was designed to serve on a small scale, which is evident in the 2,000-page monthly duty cycle and the 150-sheet paper capacity. The HP PSC 750 ink cartridges also have a fairly low capacity, with the black printer ink yielding 500 pages and the tricolor supply yielding about 450 pages. Fortunately, replacements are readily available online. Some third-party vendors even offer remanufactured HP PSC 750 ink cartridges, which cost less than half as much as the OEM versions.
A single PC can be connected to this inkjet device via a USB port on the back panel. Computers using Mac and Windows operating systems are both supported. Though there are no finishing options, networking capabilities, or a duplexer, this unit does feature the HP PhotoREt color layering technology, which ensures high-quality color images. The drop-on-demand method of application uses nozzles to distribute small dots of HP PSC 750 ink to the paper, and then layer more dots to provide professional-grade quality.
Though it offers only basic features, the PSC 750 has a versatile set of tasks it can handle. Busy offices will want to look elsewhere, but because of its small size and multiple functions, it is a good choice for a home or dorm.
