Although it has a frame that measures only around 12x20x20 inches and weighs less than 30 pounds, the HP OfficeJet Pro L7650 consists of a printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine. This unit is constructed to produce up to 7,500 documents per month and offers USB, wired, and wireless networking. The drop-on-demand inkjet technology minimizes overall HP L7650 ink costs and creates impressive quality perfect for personal and professional jobs.

There are a few different print modes that users have to choose from - Draft, Normal, and Best. To reach the maximum resolution of 1200x600 dpi, documents will need to print in Best mode, which will reduce production speed to about 5 pages per minute. On the flip side, Draft mode uses less HP L7650 printer ink per inch, resulting in a lower quality but high production rates of 34-35 pages per minute. Normal mode is a balance of the two.

The flatbed scanner offers a 48-bit color depth, an automatic image editor, and an internal enhanced resolution of 19,200 dpi. Up to 99 copies can be made per order and users are able to adjust the size from 25% to 400% of the original size. Faxes can be processed in about 3 seconds with the 33.6 Kbps modem. The maximum fax quality is 200x200 dpi and up to 100 speed dials can be programmed. The built-in memory is 64 MB and the L7650 is able to to handle duplex (two-sided) printing.

Using the special HP Vivera OfficeJet Pro L7650 ink, this unit is able to print high-quality documents in black-and-white or color at a low cost. In fact, some third-party vendors offer remanufactured HP L7560 ink cartridges that will generate the same quality and yield, but cost less than half as much as the OEM versions. There are both standard and high-capacity printer ink options for this unit. The high-capacity OfficeJet Pro L7650 ink cartridges yield twice as much as the standard supplies, but naturally cost more upfront.

The HP OfficeJet Pro L7650 is equipped to perform a variety of tasks and even supports various media types, such as envelopes, transparencies, labels, and photo paper, within its two input trays. Overall, this is a versatile inkjet printer that will perform well in a home or small office environment.
