HP 300 Printer Review
Using thermal inkjet technology in a drop-on-demand print system, the HP OfficeJet 300 combines a copier, scanner, printer, and fax machine within a 17.25x15.5x11.125-inch frame that weighs only 19.5 pounds. Using small nozzles to eject the printer ink from the HP 300 ink cartridge, the result is sharp, clear text sufficient for a professional environment. It is limited in its connectivity options, though, offering only a parallel port and supporting only Windows machines.
Up to 99 copies can be made per original and users can slightly reduce the size of the image to about 70% of the actual size. The scanner can render a resolution of 200x200 using TWAIN software. The fax machine offers 60 speed dials and a 24-page fax memory. It can receive a fax in about 20 seconds and will send one in as little as 10 seconds with the 9.6 Kbps transmission rate.
The individual black OfficeJet 300 ink cartridge can yield up to 790 pages, which is a little above average for inkjet printers. For users that print often and are concerned that the cost of replacements will add up, third-party vendors do offer remanufactured versions of the HP 300 ink that will cost about a third of the OEM price.
A straight paper path allows this unit to accept various paper types, including envelopes and transparencies. There is a standard input tray that holds up to 100 plain pieces of paper and an output tray that holds about the same. Additionally, a 20-page automatic document feeder is available for sending multi-page faxes or making copies of documents with more than one page. Regardless, the maximum resolution the HP 300 ink can render is 600x300 dpi.
Though the speed tops out at 3 pages per minute, the 300 could still be an efficient addition to low-volume offices. Its all-in-one capabilities will save space and time, and the third-party OfficeJet 300 printer ink will minimize operational spending, making this a solid choice for small work environments.

Warranty for Compatible/Remanufactured Products
Based on our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, we will accept returns of compatible or remanufactured ink and toner cartridges for full credit if the returned product has a valid return authorization number and is received in our warehouse within 6 months of the original shipping date. If there is a confirmed print quality issue, only 1 set of opened products will be accepted for credit returns, and only if less than 30% of the ink or toner has been used.
We will replace defective compatible or remanufactured products free of charge if the products are returned within 1 year of the original ship date, and provide a return shipping tag for return of the product.
