HP 950 Printer Review
With basic features and minimal bells and whistles, the HP FAX 950 serves as a low-volume fax machine for a small or home office. This device is designed to fit on a standard desktop and has a weight of only 19 pounds, making it easy to install and move. The frame measures approximately 19x23x10 inches. The 950 can also be used occasionally as a copier if needed, giving this inkjet device a little more versatility than some other fax machines.
Considered a stand-alone device, meaning a computer connection is not needed to send or receive faxes, the 950 offers 100 speed dial stations, which includes 72 two-digit codes and 24 one-touch options. An answering machine interface and handset is built-in, allowing users to use the unit as a phone as well. The provided memory is 512 KB and can hold up to 28 pages, but this can be expanded up to 2.5 MB as needed. Privacy settings are available as well, including passwords and private mailboxes.
Only a single black HP 950 ink cartridge is required for operation, limiting printed documents to black-and-white only. In fact, it is limited resolution of up to 300 dpi when sending or receiving a fax. The main input tray is fairly small, holding just 100 sheets of plain paper. A 30-sheet automatic document feeder is also provided for quick scanning of documents. These trays, along with an output tray, are supplied in the box upon purchase, in addition to the necessary cords and a starter FAX 950 ink cartridge.
Another beneficial feature of this machine is the Error Correction Mode, which will display transmission issues and automatically try re-transmission. The small display screen is also used to alert users when paper is out, memory is full, and HP 950 ink is low, among others. Whether using OEM supplies or third-party remanufactured versions, the FAX 950 printer ink should yield up to 790 pages per cartridge.
It can take up to 12 seconds per page to be processed, which could hinder the production rate in a busy office. This is one reason the 950 inkjet model is better suited for a small, low-volume environment. Fortunately, the HP 950 printer ink creates professional quality documents when faxes are being received, and its low price makes it worth considering for light-duty use.

Warranty for Compatible/Remanufactured Products
Based on our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Ink Technologies will accept returns of compatible or remanufactured ink and toner cartridges for full credit if the returned product has a valid return authorization number and is received in our warehouse within 6 months of the original shipping date. If there is a confirmed print quality issue, only 1 set of opened products will be accepted for credit returns, and only if less than 30% of the ink or toner has been used.
Ink Technologies will replace defective compatible or remanufactured products free of charge if the products are returned within 1 year of the original ship date, and provide a return shipping tag for return of the product.
