HP 210 Printer Information
As its name denotes, the HP Color Copier 210 offers both monochrome and color copying for jobs like text documents, graphics and photos. Another model available in its series is the 210LX, which is slightly more expensive and includes a 40-sheet automatic document feeder for unattended copying. The 210 is a moderately slow inkjet device, offering maximum output speeds of 10 copies per minute in Fast mode and only 5 copies per minute in Best mode. Considering these slow speeds, its low-capacity Color Copier 210 printer ink and small media capacity, this machine is ideal for home users with light-duty copying needs.
Measuring 13x22x18 inches and weighing over 50 pounds, the 210 is one of the bulkier single-function copiers around and will require plenty of desktop space. The build incorporates a front panel with buttons that enable users to adjust the scaling of a copy by reducing it by a minimum of 50% and enlarging it by 400%, as well as adjust the color tone. Users will also be able to select copying between 1 and 99 duplicates from an original document.
The 210's legal-size flatbed copying surface enables it to handle media with a maximum size of 8.5x14 inches. Supported media also includes inkjet paper and glossy paper, as well as sizes like letter and A4. The machine comes with one input tray that can handle up to 100 sheets of plain paper.
The device uses drop-on-demand thermal technology that allows it to print with sharp detail and a maximum resolution of 600x600 dpi using HP 210 printer ink. Users should be able to duplicate important notes, recipes or even photos for a scrapbook, but its maximum monthly duty cycle of 1,500 pages will keep it from handling heavy-duty jobs.
The printer uses black, cyan, magenta and yellow Color Copier 210 ink that are separated into 4 individual HP 210 ink cartridges to reduce wasting supplies. To keep costs on replacements low, users have the option to purchase remanufactured HP 210 ink cartridges rather than more expensive OEM supplies.
This simple entry-level copier isn't a good choice for small offices since it doesn't include printing or scanning capabilities. However, home users that want to keep a simple copier around for the occasional monochrome or color job will benefit from this inexpensive device.
