Epson CX7800 Printer Review

The Epson Stylus CX7800 is one of the most affordable all-in-one inkjet printers available, but it suffers from a disappointing performance in several of its functions. Speeds, for example, stood horribly against tests, with documents printing much slower than the estimated maximum of 20 pages per minute for monochrome text documents and 19 pages per minute for graphics. While the device benefits from a cost-efficient Stylus CX7800 printer ink system and user-friendly features, its low price may not be reason enough to consider it above other models in its class.

This machine offers photo and text printing, as well as scanning and copying functions that can fit the needs of home users. The design is missing a few typical multipurpose features like an automatic document feeder for scanning and instead has a more photo-centric design. For example, a port on the front panel supports PictBridge cameras, and memory card slots are included for direct photo printing. The color LCD panel on the panel offers basic photo editing options and image previews. The device measures only 7x16x17 inches, a compact size that is partly possible due to its limited media handling that includes a single 100-sheet paper tray for minimal bulk. The device uses black, cyan, yellow and magenta Epson CX7800 ink cartridges that each yield up to 450 pages. Low-cost remanufactured Epson CX7800 ink cartridges can be purchased over genuine replacements to help save users money.

The main benefits to owning the CX7800 are that it's inexpensive to own and it has a simple design that will be easy to navigate. However, buyers who want a more well-rounded multifunction inkjet printer capable of providing better output may find it worthwhile to spend a little more.
