The Epson Stylus CX6000 is not only a versatile all-in-one inkjet printer, but it is also somewhat of a self-contained photo processing lab. It can handle basic editing and touchups without a PC, and it prints at a maximum of 27 pages per minute. Smudge- and fade-resistant Epson CX6000 printer ink is also great for archive photos that last a long time.

Even when fully expanded for printing, the CX6000 measures in at only 11.2x18.2x19.3 inches, and it weighs just 15.2 pounds, so it is designed for relatively small spaces. The main paper tray is larger than expected for its compact design, at up to 120 sheets.

The major missing features are wireless support and an ethernet port, but users still get plenty of connection options. A standard USB port is the connection to a PC, but a PictBridge port and many memory card slots are included, and the unit's control panel and 2-inch display provide the option of Automatic Photo Correction and several editing choices with or without a PC connected. Users can even scan and enhance old photographs, then print archival copies, without ever having to connect to a computer.

The DURABrite Ultra Epson CX6000 printer ink system is designed to look good on both plain and photo paper for versatility. The standard Stylus CX6000 ink cartridges provide up to 350 pages each for color and 245 pages for black. High-capacity Epson CX6000 printer ink cartridges can provide up to 525 pages each, for more cost-effective operation.

The Epson CX6000 inkjet printer will be a better choice for photo enthusiasts than those who need office functionality, but it does an adequate job of both. Its real talent is producing bright, vivid photos that last for many years, thanks to the high-quality Stylus CX6000 ink.
