Home users often like to bundle together multiple features and functions to save time, space, and costs. The Dell P703w is happy to oblige, as a color inkjet printer that can produce excellent, lab-quality photos, but also has copying and scanning functions for more versatility. It also has additional features like wireless support and a PictBridge USB port for added convenience. Printer ink costs can get a bit high, however, as Dell P703w ink comes in small capacities.

Since the P703w is designed to be a low-cost solution for the home user, one wouldn't expect a lot of extra features. It has solid printing speeds of 31 pages per minute for black and 26 for color, and output quality is pretty good for the price, though models that cost only a bit more offer better. The paper tray is small, at only 100 sheets, but this is fairly typical for the price.

One very convenient feature is the unit's support for wireless networks. Users no longer need to run wires all over the house to share the device with many users, which will be welcome news. Another added bonus is the USB port, which will allow flash drives and even PictBridge cameras to be connected for direct printing, even when the computer is off.

The cost of printer ink is higher than the average inkjet, however. The use of only two Dell P703w ink cartridges is convenient, instead of having to replace individual colors. The downside of the Dell P703w ink cartridges, however, is that they don't have large capacities. This means users will have to replace the Dell P703w ink quite frequently, and the costs can add up.

The feature set and speed of the Dell P703w are both impressive, and it has an excellent compact design that home users will like. The high cost of ink could make it a poor value, however, and more cost-effective devices can be had for the price.
