Tall and bulky with a weight of nearly 80 pounds, the Dell 2145 will require a sizable chunk of space and take at least 2 people to move. In general, setup is painless though, with helpful software and a manual that is easy to understand. Duplex printing is an included feature, for easy automatic two-sided prints. Previous users have mentioned that the control panel makes it confusing to select this mode, however. Some reviews have also noted that it takes the 2145 a while to warm-up from the off position, but planning around this minor drawback should be fairly easy to do.

The machine's affordability comes from the reduced maintenance expense provided by compatible Dell 2145 toner cartridges. Though OEM toners are available, it is the third party options for Dell 2145 printer toner that provide the best cost savings. Standard and high-capacity Dell 2145 toner cartridges are available that will generate about 2,000 or 5,000 pages respectively.

Both the memory and the paper capacity can be increased if daily volume picks up, giving the device enough flexibility to grow in the future. The standard memory of 256 MB can be upgraded to 512 MB and the paper capacity of 350 sheets can be expanded to 850 sheets with additional trays.

This laser printer is not the fastest on the market, but the 2145 does have the ability to grow with a company and will be simple to use, and replacement Dell 2145 toner is affordable enough to make this unit a good value.
