The Canon PC720 is a monochrome laser copier designed for the home or small office user. Its compact size and fast speed for the price are impressive. Its energy-saving and toner-saving features also make it very economical. Though it can print in addition to copying, if printing is the main function needed a standalone printer like the Dell 1320c that uses Dell 310-9060 toner could be a better buy.

Despite the prevalence of all-in-one machines on the market, many users still prefer separate machines for separate tasks. The Canon PC720 laser copier makes an excellent machine for the small office, and its energy-saving features mean that even leaving it on all day will not use much power. This allows users to keep the copy machine free for copying, instead of having it integrated into an all-in-one machine.

The copier can produce up to 100 copies at a time, and it has reduction and enlargement options from 70% to 141%. Automatic duplexing is not supported, but manual duplexing is possible, and the software walks the user through the process. Many sizes of paper are supported, up to 8.5 by 14 inches. The flatbed scanning surface also supports originals up to 8.5 by 14 inches. The Canon PC720 laser copier has only a flatbed scanner, with no automatic document feeder, which might be a downside for some users.
