Canon PC425 Printer Information
There are times when a user needs to make a small number of copies outside of the office, and the Canon PC425 personal laser copier is just the device for these occasions. It is relatively portable, reaches speeds of up to 4 copies per minute, and unlike many portable models, it uses toners instead of ink, to make it much more affordable.
Given that the PC425 is only 4.13 inches tall and 15.9 inches deep, one might assume that it doesn't have much capacity, but its fold-out paper tray can hold up to 50 sheets at one time. The scanning tray can handle paper up to 8.5x11 inches, and even 3D objects, books, and more.
The unit is a little heavy, at around 18 pounds with the Canon PC425 printer toner installed, so it won't slide into a laptop bag like some smaller machines. It is still fairly portable, however, and can be carried from place to place when needed.
There are a few disadvantages, however. The monthly duty cycle maxes out at 500 pages, so high-volume use is out of the question. It also takes around 22 seconds for the first copy to come out, so fast-paced users will get easily frustrated.
As mentioned, the use of Canon PC425 toner cartridges makes it much more affordable than many portable copiers, even if it does add some extra bulk. Each Canon PC425 toner cartridge provides up to 4,000 pages, so users won't have to replace them often.
Overall, the PC425 only provides the most basic copy functionality, but its small size and cost-effect Canon PC425 toner costs make it a great value for the price. If users can look past the slow first page out time, it could be a great fit for light-duty copying.
