The Canon LC720 is a monochrome laser printer with the ability to print professional-quality documents, send faxes, make copies and scan various different sizes of media. This unit weighs 44 pounds with the Canon toner cartridge and has a relatively compact frame that will fit in most office spaces. The LC720i is another variation of this unit that features internet faxing. The drum and Canon LC720 toner cartridge are attached, so maintenance will be even simpler.

There is a standard paper capacity of 600 sheets, broken up into 3 trays. Two of those trays hold 250 sheets of plain paper, while the other holds 100 sheets of different types of paper, such as photo paper and envelopes. There is an automatic document feeder that holds up to 70 sheets. This prevents users from having to feed paper into the machine by hand. Using the Canon LC720 toner, up to 20 pages per minute can be produced. Though these speeds are not the fastest on the market, they are pretty average for printers in this price range.

Reviews for this unit are mostly positive. Experts believe the fax machine is the strongest of all of the extra functions. With its super G3 speed and 33.6 Kbps transmission rate, the faxing capabilities are as good as many dedicated fax machines. It also has a memory of 510 pages, which is expandable. This is especially helpful when the machine is turned off or out of paper.

There is only one Canon LC720 toner cartridge needed for this unit. This is filled with black printer toner and can last up to 4,500 prints. When it is time to find replacements, remanufactured toners are as readily available as OEM. Not only that, but the remanufactured Canon LC720 toner will produce the same quality and capacity, but for a much more affordable price.
