Canon L1000 Printer Review
Though many offices and home users these days are turning to all-in-one machines for the majority of their needs, some offices still want individual machines for individual machines for individual tasks. In some cases, people choose all-in-one units that were made primarily for one function and excels at that, but then has a few of the added features as well. The Canon L1000 is one of those machines. This is primarily a fax machine, and that is obvious. However, its print, scan and copy features are all decent and will get the job done. The L1000 comes standard with a 50-page automatic document feeder, which should make buyers quite happy, and many different sizes and types of paper are even supported. The Canon L100 toner cartridge used with the machine is inexpensive to maintain.
This is a monochrome machine, so for all of its functions, it uses only one Canon printer toner. This black printer toner can last consumers up to 5,000 pages, which is pretty good. The resolutions when printing using the Canon L1000 toner can reach as high as 600x600 dpi, and up to 16 pages can be produced each minute when copying or faxing. When using the copier, up to 99 copies can be made from an original document.
The fax function on this unit is its main purpose. The fax has a modem speed of 33.6 Kbps, but that can be upgraded at anytime to 64.4 MB. Each fax can send in under 3 seconds, which is pretty fast. The machine has a memory of 192 pages, and it also has about 12 hours of back-up memory. Its receiving paper tray can hold up to 100 pages too, which will definitely be a convenience to many. Some of the features that come with the fax portion are page collating, memory lock-up reception and confidential mailbox.
