The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF710, also referred to as the iPF710 MFP, is a specialty device intended to fit the large-format printing needs of architects, graphic designers or professional photographers. The device has a high-speed print head system that incorporates Full-Lithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering, for printing quality output whilst minimizing the amount of time it takes to print detailed and large documents. Ideal for projects such as posters, renderings, photos and other large-format graphics, this device combines a sophisticated imagePROGRAF iPF710 printer ink system and user-friendly features that make it one of the best options in its class.

The front panel comes with a large LCD screen that is designed for monitoring job progress and providing management over basic menu settings. For control via a user's PC, the unit also provides a downloadable driver with advanced settings for page setup and color management, as well as links to software like PosterArtist and Adobe Photoshop. To connect and print, users can either use their PC via the USB port or connect the machine to the office network via the ethernet interface.

Paper handling is versatile enough to allow users to select both a specific feeding mechanism that best suits the projects needs, providing a cassette tray for standard pre-cut paper with a maximum size of 36x44 inches, a manual front feed for heavy stock and a roll feed for larger print jobs and borderless printing. The device handles a wide range of media, including synthetic paper, heavy-weight glossy photo paper, matte paper and proofing paper. Combining quality paper with its nozzle engineering, the unit can print with a minimum droplet size of 4 picoliters for a precise resolution of 2400x1200 dpi using Canon iPF710 ink.

The unit uses a 5-color Canon iPF710 ink cartridge system that includes magenta, cyan, yellow, dye-based black and pigment matte black printer ink. Each imagePROGRAF iPF710 ink can be replaced separately with either an inexpensive remanufactured supply or an OEM Canon iPF710 ink cartridge.
