The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6400 is a large format inkjet printer that supports media widths of up to 24 inches. It is designed for photographers, artists, and designers who want extremely high quality output. Buyers will find that replacing all 12 colors of Canon iPF6400 ink is a bit expensive, however.

The iPF6400 is fairly compact for a large format printer, measuring 39.4x48.3x34.3 inches, with a weight of 154 pounds before the imagePROGRAF iPF6400 ink is installed. It includes a stand with wheels for easier mobility. The unit can accept either cut sheet or roll media, with a maximum roll diameter of 5.9 inches.

An optional spectrophotometer provides automatic proofing options as well, for monitoring output for consistency.

As large format printers go, the iPF6400 offers some of the best color calibration features in its class, and can handle a wide variety of different media. Its upfront price is steep, and Canon iPF6400 ink costs are somewhat high, but designers with the budget for it should be pleased with its quality.
