The automatic document feeder on the MF6580 can hold up to 50 sheets, and supports duplex scanning, for scanning two-sided documents for faxing, copying, and printing. Although the printer is monochrome only, the scanner can scan color documents at color depths up to 24-bit, and an optical resolution up to 600 dpi. As the unit does not have built-in networking, scanning will only work with a computer connected directly via USB 2.0. Print speed is fairly fast at around 23 pages per minute. Print quality is excellent. Text is sharp and detailed, and graphics quality is quite good as well.
