Canon 2220 Printer Review
With a weight of 214 pounds and a frame that measures approximately 36x22x29 inches, the Canon imageCLASS 2220 makes its presence known. Considering that it combines four important pieces of office equipment into a single device, however, it ultimately is a space-saver. This all-inclusive, one-stop shop document center will make managing multiple tasks more efficient, inevitably increasing productivity.
Built to handle up to 75,000 pages per month, the 2220 can be used for printing, copying, scanning, and faxing. The copier offers resizing options from 25%-800% and can generate up to 999 duplicates from an original. The maximum copy resolution is 1200x600, while the scan resolution is 600x600 dpi. Scans can be sent to files or directly to email, and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder helps to facilitate fast processing of documents with multiple pages. The fax function operates with a 33.6 Kbps transmission rate, sending and receiving faxes in less than 3 seconds per page.
Monochrome units do not require multiple toners like a color model, but rather this machine uses a single Canon 2220 printer toner cartridge that can yield up to 10,000 pages. To reduce overall operational costs, it is recommended to purchase replacement imageCLASS 2220 toner cartridges in bulk, especially for users that use this device to its fullest capacity. The display screen will indicate to users when the Canon 2220 toner is running low, among other things.
Various media types are supported, including envelopes and transparencies. The black imageCLASS 2220 toner will appear bolder and sharper on glossy paper, but will create a professional quality document on standard paper as well. The maximum resolution is 2400x600 dpi, but this will have to be sacrificed a bit to reach the optimal production rate of 22 pages per minute. In Draft mode, pages print faster, as less Canon 2220 toner is applied per inch.
The paper capacity can be increased to 4,550 pages, with a 250-sheet tray and 1,000-sheet cassette built in initially. Connected via USB or ethernet interface, the 2220 can be used in a variety of environments. Equipped with finishing options, this all-in-one laser device will improve overall production in mid-sized offices.
