Canon C400 Printer Review
While the Canon C400 is built to handle heavy-duty copying needs for small offices, its multifunction design is also geared toward occasional print and scan jobs. For the option to automatically copy double-sided on media, buyers can check out its series model, the C400D. Much of the C400's robust design is mostly attributed to its quick output that can copy up to 40 pages per minute for monochrome documents. This device also has a significantly larger paper capacity than similar laser units, as well as long-lasting toners that will make it easy for users to expand their workflow.
Measuring at a bulky 24x29x27 inches, the C400 is too large for desktop copying. However, thanks to its optional wheel stand users should be able to easily move it around the office. With its ability to handle a maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 60,000 pages and duplicate an original project a total of 999 times, this machine will suit large volumes.
The unit's media handling will support multiple users with frequent copying needs, offering a number of input trays that can hold an assortment of media types at a size of up to 11x17 inches and a maximum of 4,000 pages. Useful finishing options such as a stapler will make organizing larger projects easy. In addition, the unit's optional automatic document feeder will be a nice touch for those with larger scan jobs.
Built-in copy features include automatic reduction and enlargement, paper tray switching and copying two documents onto a single page. Directly on the device's front control panel is also an LED light alert system, which will flash when its black Canon C400 printer toner needs to be replaced.
Since the device only operates with one black Canon C400 toner cartridge, replacing supplies will be easy and affordable. Replacement Canon C400 toner cartridges can each yield up to 15,000 pages, which will allow users to copy frequently without having to constantly replace tanks.
A generous paper handling capacity, quick copying speeds and its user-friendly control panel are all standout features of the C400. While users can find other models with more advanced multifunction capabilities, this monochrome unit is a good solution for mostly copying and the occasional print or scan project.
