Canon BJC-3000 Printer Review

The Canon BJC-3000 is a personal inkjet printer that won't necessarily wow a user with its features, but its low price and easy-to-use design make it a good solution for occasional monochrome and color printing. The BJC-3000 is targeted toward low volumes, with slow maximum printing speeds of only 6 pages per minute for monochrome documents and 4 pages per minute for color. There are many drawbacks to the BJC-3000, but buyers that don't mind its simple design and waiting a little longer for projects to print will enjoy its cost efficiency and satisfactory output.

The BJC-3000 weighs only 5 pounds and has a size of 14x6x8 inches, which makes it small enough to share space with a user's computer. Considering its limited built-in features, this machine will need to be managed primarily from a user's computer and can be connected via USB port or parallel interface. The only tools its front panel does include are a button to turn the device on and off, a status LED and a button to resume printing.

The device can print on paper with a maximum size of 8.5x14 inches and a minimum size of 4x6 inches. Users will only be able to load 100 sheets of paper into its single input tray, which will allow the machine to handle low-volume printing. Print volumes will also be limited by its low built-in memory of 128 KB

When users have monochrome jobs like text documents, the device is able to print with adequate detail and a maximum resolution of 1440x720 dpi using monochrome Canon BJC-3000 printer ink. While images and graphics print with the same resolution, their quality is below par compared to similar photo units.

The device uses 6 individual supplies including black, photo cyan, photo magenta, cyan, magenta and yellow Canon BJC-3000 printer ink cartridges. Each color tank can last up to 420 pages and 750 pages for the black Canon BJC-3000 ink cartridges.

This dated inkjet printer doesn't have the advanced features seen in the more recent additions to its class of single-function personal devices, but it isn't nearly as expensive. When comparing price and features, users will certainly get what they paid for and be able to print decent monochrome documents and photos.
