Looking for an all in one laser printer for the small to midsized office? You should probably at the very least consider the Brother MFC-8120. Compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, this machine will fit the needs of businesses quite well. Though it does lack faxing capabilities, its other features will definitely suffice, and it comes network ready. Its weight of 30 pounds, with the Brother toner installed, won't be too hard to lift when needed, and the USB and parallel port connection options are both convenient. Its features include printing, copying and scanning, and each function produces excellent speeds and quality. It has a low upfront cost and inexpensive Brother MFC-8120 toner cartridges which only make this unit more appealing to the masses.

Only one Brother MFC-8120 toner cartridge is needed for printing and copying, and this printer toner is standard black. Using this printer toner, resolutions of up to 2400x600 dpi can be obtained, and up to 21 pages can be cranked out. The standard version can yield 3,500 pages, while the high capacity can yield 6,700 pages. Both toners exert the same great quality.

The scanner is sheet-fed and has the ability to scan documents up to 8.5x14 inches. The standard resolution possible is 1200dpi, and the interpolated resolution can reach up to 9600 dpi. The automatic document feeder makes scanning easy to do. It cannot scan color documents, though, which could be a major turn off.

The copier can work without a PC making up to 21 copies per minute using the Brother MFC-8120 toner. Reduction and enlargement are possible from 25%-400%. Ninety-nine copies or less can be made from an original document.

All around, consumers tend to only have positive things to say about the Brother MFC-8120. Though the Brother MFC-8120 may seem somewhat expensive compared to Brother ink, remanufactured versions are available and cost a lot less.
