While many inkjet printers have an affordable price, ink costs can sometimes be very high. Brother MFC-5840CN inkjet cartridges are very affordably-priced, and the large page yield of each Brother MFC-5840CN ink cartridge combined with a low price results in a printer with a very low cost per page. The unit is very compact, measuring 18.1 inches by 17 inches by 13.4 inches, and weighs only 22 pounds.

With such a small frame, one might assume that it is not as full-featured as larger machines. In fact, the Brother MFC-5840CN can print, copy, scan, and fax. Overall, the Brother MFC-5840CN would make an excellent addition to a small networked office. For an office with a little higher-volume print schedule, perhaps a device that uses HP 45 ink. But the MFC-5840CN's wide array of features should increase productivity, and its affordable price and low ink costs will be easy on the budget.
