Though it lacks some advanced options, the Brother MFC-440CN is still considered a solid all-in-one inkjet photo printer and offers features that still make it competitive on today's market. It can print vivid photos and professional documents in black-and-white or color.

When it comes to speed, the MFC-440CN is above average for inkjet printers in the same price range. When printing, up to 20 full-color pages and 25 black-and-white documents can be produced each minute. Making copies is a little slower, maxing out at about 18 copies per minute. With a somewhat-limited 14.4 Kbps transmission rate, faxes can be received in around 6 seconds.

There are a variety of connection options available, including a USB port for a single PC and a built-in ethernet interface for networking in the office.
