The Brother MFC-3360C is one of the least expensive models in its class of inkjet devices that offer print, scan, fax and copy capabilities. The MFC-3360C can print at a maximum speed of 25 pages per minute for monochrome documents and 20 pages per minute for color projects, which is a bit slow for its class. While the device can bring affordable all-in-one functions to home or micro offices, it has a limited range of management tools and lacks the typical flatbed scanning design seen among comparable units.

Equipped in its compact 16x19-inch build is a relatively simple front panel that has standard fixtures such as a number pad for fax dialing and a navigation pad for straight-forward menu access. However, the panel omits elements such as a color LCD for previewing personal photos, instead providing a small monochrome display that expert reviews noted is hard to read. Elements such as a memory card reader or a front USB port that supports external drives are also missing, leaving the MFC-3360 with only a standard USB for basic PC connectivity.

Additional setbacks include its maximum media handling capacity of 100 pages, which is suited for only light-duty use. The inclusion of a 50-sheet automatic document feeder will help make up for the lack of a flatbed design and allow users to continuously scan large jobs. Another positive attribute is its on-par text and graphic output, with a maximum resolution of 2400x2400 dpi using Brother MFC-3360C printer ink.

Yields of up to 400 pages for the cyan, magenta and yellow Brother MFC-3360C printer ink cartridges and 500 pages for the black supply will allow the unit to keep up with low volumes. To reduce running costs users can use remanufactured Brother MFC-3360C ink cartridges rather than the pricey OEM replacements.

Except for its acceptable output and low price tag, there's little to entice those in the market for home or micro office printers to purchase the MFC-3360C. Buyers should spend a bit more for an inkjet printer with more flexible multifunction and control features and quicker speeds.
