The Brother MFC-210C is a multifunction inkjet printer that can copy, scan, print and fax documents without the hassle of multiple machines. The unit can copy documents at speeds of 17 pages per minute for monochrome documents and 11 pages per minute for color, while it can print up to 20 pages per minute. Although it's a 4-in-1 printer, the MFC-210C is a simple and inexpensive device that lacks many of the features typically seen in its class, making it a basic choice for small offices.

Lacking versatile connectivity like networking and wireless printing and features like an automatic document feeder and duplexing, this unit suffers from a design that's too basic. Connective options it does provide include a standard USB port, as well as support for flash memory digital media cards like CompactFlash and Memory Stick.

Measuring just 14x15x5 inches, this device does give users the benefit of a compact, desktop-ready size. The design includes a simple monochrome LCD on the front panel and a handful of buttons for turning the printer on and off and navigating through menus. Users are also equipped with a single 100-sheet input tray that can store a maximum paper size of 8.5x14 inches and support low-volume printing.

Output quality is average for an inkjet printer, with text and graphics that should be adequate enough for internal distribution in an office. Users can print and copy documents with a maximum resolution of 6000x1200 dpi using black and color Brother MFC-210C printer ink.

To help reduce waste, the unit uses individual cyan, magenta, yellow and black Brother MFC-210C printer ink cartridges that can be replaced separately. Each color supply can yield up to 400 pages and the black Brother MFC-210C ink cartridge has a capacity of 500 pages.

The MFC-210C isn't without benefits, providing users with solid monochrome and color output and with the option for direct photo printing. However, these features and its affordable price don't make up for all that it lacks, which may cause buyers to seek out other more versatile all-in-one printers.
