The Lanier LP138c is a high-volume color laser printer intended to be used in a fast-paced office environment. Home users and small offices may find this unit to be a bit much, but it will be an efficient addition to large-scale users. Compatible with most operating systems and network capable, the LP138c should easily fit into most office spaces.
The four Lanier LP138c toner cartridges that are used in this machine are cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Using any of these toners, up to 38 pages per minute can be produced. The black Lanier toner
cartridge has a page yield of 20,000 pages, while the color printer toner can yield up to 10,000 pages each. This capacity should be enough to get users through a month or so at least, depending on the volume of printing.
This unit has multiple functions which include a fax machine with a 33.6 Kbps modem. It can hold many types of paper and many sizes all the way up to A4. This provides variety in the tasks the LP138c can handle. Incredibly, the manufacturer reports that this workhorse has a monthly duty cycle of 1,000,000 pages, which seems nearly impossible! Though that may not be the recommended amount of pages printed, it is comforting to growing companies that this laser printer can handle almost anything.
Replacement Lanier LP138c toner can be purchased from the manufacturer or from third party vendors. The third party vendors not only offer OEM printer toner, but they also rebuild, or remanufacture previous used products. The remanufactured Lanier LP138c toner is half the price as the OEM but still manages to perform with the same quality and last for the same amount of prints. As far as color printers are concerned, the LP138c may be discontinued, but it can still hold its own against current models.
