HP PSC 1401 Printer Information
Using innovative and precision-oriented drop-on-demand inkjet technology, the HP PSC 1401 is the perfect device for a home or small office. This machine offers a number of functions and features packed into a compact device. Gone are the days of having various pieces of equipment taking up desk space. Rather, the all-in-one PSC 1401 is comprised of a printer, scanner, and copier, all capable of producing black-and-white and color output.
When the print mode is set to Draft, the maximum resolution that can be reached is only 300x300 dpi, but this is the only mode that can be used to reach the top speed of 18 pages per minute for black-and-white and 14 pages per minute in color. In Best mode, more HP PSC 1401 printer ink is distributed per inch, boosting the quality up to an impressive 4800x1200 dpi. Unfortunately, that kind of quality comes at a price, with the speed slowing to about .12 pages per minute.
Designed to handle the daily tasks of a small work environment, the maximum number of pages that can be printed monthly is 5,000, though HP recommends users not exceed 500 pages. Unfortunately, the HP PSC 1401 ink cartridges can only yield less than 200 pages, so replacements could be needed often. The tricolor supply consists of cyan, yellow, and magenta, while the black HP PSC 1401 ink cartridge stands alone.
Connected via USB port, the 1401 should support most common operating systems and will be easy to plug in and start using. In inkjet technology, small nozzles attached to the printheads are used to apply tiny droplets of HP PSC 1401 printer ink in calculated spots on the paper, creating layered, vibrant colors. When scanning, there is a built-in image editor that should clear scans of imperfections, such as red eyes.
The HP PSC 1401 is a simple device, equipped with a number of the functions that help the work day run smoothly. It is easy to use and a one-stop shop for most daily tasks. It is a reliable, affordable choice for most homes or small offices.
