HP C6280 Printer Information
Photo enthusiasts who don't want to give up some basic office functionality will find the HP Photosmart C6280 all-in-one inkjet printer very appealing. With ethernet networking and scanning and copying features, it is fairly well-rounded, and it can print at up to 34 pages per minute. Two additional colors of HP C6280 printer ink enhance photo quality, but also negatively enhance its operating costs.
The design of the C6280 is straightforward, with a flatbed scanner on top and a compact frame. It measures 7.4x17.6x17.4 inches, and it is pretty light at 22.7 pounds, even with the Photosmart C6280 ink installed. The control panel is a little more detailed than the average home inkjet model, with dedicated buttons for things like Scan Menu and Copy Menu that make it easier to handle different tasks.
A small 2.4-inch LCD screen can tilt up for easier viewing, and provide photo previews and even basic editing options. This is particularly handy when loading photos from the built-in memory card slots, which support most popular formats. Users can choose to connect the device directly to a single PC with the USB port, or share it on an ethernet network. Either way, the included software adds a lot of printing control.
The Photosmart C6280 ink cartridges consist of six separate colors in individual tanks. This allows the HP C6280 printer ink cartridges to be replaced separately as they expire, and the two extra colors (light cyan and light magenta) can help make smoother transitions in photos. Adding the extra colors of HP C6280 ink will result in higher costs, however, and some buyers may not want the tradeoff.
The C6280 does an adequate job of printing, copying, and scanning, and its speeds are pretty impressive for the price. Output quality is sharp, particularly for photos, but buyers who aren't overly included toward photo printing might do better with a more business-centric machine.
