HP F4440 Printer Information
With a sleek, rounded design and a compact frame, the HP Deskjet F4440 puts affordable inkjet printing, scanning, and copying within reach for home users, even if they are limited on space and budget. Its maximum speed of 28 pages per minute in black and 22 ppm in color is impressive for such a low price, and the high-capacity versions of HP F4440 printer ink supplies are a good buy for cost-effective printing.
The F4440 has a simple and straightforward design, with a footprint of only 18.6x7.7 inches and a height of 13.2 inches. It is very lightweight, at only 11 pounds, which even includes the weight of the Deskjet F4440 printer ink. At times, however, the design might seem a little too simple. The control panel offers only a few buttons, and without a full-color LCD screen so common nowadays, it might take a little more time with the manual.
Paper handling is quite versatile, with support for envelopes, cards, photo paper, and plain paper, at sizes of up to 8.5x14 inches. It can even handle specialty media like borderless panoramas. The scanning glass can handle media up to 8.5x11.7 inches in size, with an optical resolution of up to 1200x2400 pixels per inch.
The inkjet system uses a combination of one black and one tricolor Deskjet F4440 ink cartridge, with the former providing a fairly small page yield of only 200, and the latter 165 pages. High-capacity HP F4440 ink cartridges offer more than twice the capacity, however, at 440 pages for color and 600 pages for black. Using remanufactured HP F4440 ink from third-party vendors will be the most cost-effective option overall.
For the individual home user with occasional scanning and copying needs, the F4440 is a good value. Its limited capacity and lack of wired or wireless networking make it less than ideal as a shared family device, however.
