Printing for the Future: HP and Mobile Printing

At 247inktoner, we are big proponents of using technology to increase your productivity. One application in particular, Evernote, is especially useful. But what can benefit your everyday printing experience at home and at the office? We know that installing printer software or trying to adjust your printer settings can be a real pain. That's where HP's mobile printing apps come in. With all kinds of solutions for home and office use on your mobile devices and email clients, printing is just a click away. Here are some of the highlights.

The HP ePrint App

With the increased reliance on mobile devices for all kinds of day-to-day tasks, it should come as no surprise that printing in 2013 demands easy access through mobile devices. For anyone who has a specific HP mobile-supporting printer, this app is the answer. Available on iOS, Android, and Blackberry systems, this app allows you to rotate and view Microsoft Office documents and manage printer settings with a few easy clicks.

One of our favorite features, however, involves the ePrint Public Print capability. What exactly is this? Say you're on the go in a different city and don't have access to a printer. By using your GPS, the app will be able to locate businesses where you can synch to print. This includes many FedEx and UPS stores, as well as Walmart stores if you are only looking to print photographs. In most cities, this means unfettered access to getting important documents printed.

Google Cloud Print

If you're like us, you probably use Google for email and to manage documents, spreadsheets, and other important information. If you work in a company that has multiple offices or want to share your travel itinerary with family you're visiting cross country, Google Cloud Print makes this process easier.

By hooking up your Google email account and Google Docs account directly to your cloud-enabled printer, you can simply select your document from the list and click print. This cloud-enabled printer can be directly in your home office or it could be 2500 miles away in a different city! Because there is no need to install fancy print software, you're able to reduce the time it takes to set up systems to make information sharing easier. In the fast-paced digital age we live in, this is vitally important to being more productive and successful.

Though these are just two of the many applications of HP mobile printing, they show that the printing industry is recognizing mobile applications in 2013. As these mobile printing updates coincide with 3D printers' increased popularity, we're excited where printing technology is headed. Feel free to share your own mobile printing tips below.
